Review terms
Version of 1 November 2026
These Terms set out the rules for adding, publishing, verifying and reporting product reviews on the website www.ambit.gda.pl and the rules for processing personal data related to reviews.
§ 1. General provisions
- The service provider and the controller of personal data is AMBIT Pokrycia Dachowe Adam Zielonkowski Spółka Komandytowo-Akcyjna (a Polish limited joint-stock partnership), ul. Cementowa 5-9, 80-298 Gdańsk, Poland, tax ID (NIP) 957-092-84-71, e-mail address: ambit@ambit.gda.pl (hereinafter “Ambit” or “we”).
- Ambit provides, by electronic means, a free service consisting of storing and publishing product reviews submitted by Authors on the website www.ambit.gda.pl, in all of its language versions (hereinafter the “Service”).
- Terms used in these Terms mean:
- Author: a person who adds a Review using the form on the product page;
- Review: a rating of a product on a scale from 1 to 5 together with a text, a signature and an optional title and photos, added by an Author;
- Notifier: any person or entity that reports a Review or a photo for removal or checking;
- “Verified purchase”: a label for a Review for which we have confirmed, on the basis of a proof of purchase, that the product the Review relates to was bought, under the rules described in § 3;
- DSA: Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022 on a Single Market For Digital Services and amending Directive 2000/31/EC (Digital Services Act);
- GDPR: Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).
- To use the Service, you need a device with internet access, an up-to-date web browser and an e-mail address to which the Author has access.
- The Author accepts these Terms by ticking the relevant box in the form for adding a Review. When the form is sent, an agreement for the provision of the Service with respect to that Review is concluded. The agreement expires when the Review is deleted. The Author may withdraw from the Service at any time by asking for their Review to be deleted under the rules described in § 8(4).
- These Terms apply from 1 November 2026. For each Review, we record which version of the Terms the Author accepted.
- These Terms are available free of charge on this page in a way that allows them to be displayed, saved and printed.
- Ambit’s point of contact for the authorities of the Member States of the European Union, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services (Article 11 DSA) and for recipients of the Service (Article 12 DSA) is the e-mail address ambit@ambit.gda.pl. The point of contact can be communicated with in Polish or English.
§ 2. Adding reviews
- A Review may be added by a person who is at least 18 years old.
- A Review must describe the Author’s own experience with the product it relates to, for example with buying, installing or using it.
- One Review of a given product may be added from one e-mail address. If the Author adds another Review of the same product from the same address, the newer Review replaces the older one: we delete the older one and inform the Author of this.
- A Review contains:
- a rating on a scale from 1 to 5 (mandatory);
- a text of 20 to 5000 characters (mandatory);
- a title of up to 120 characters (optional);
- a signature, that is a first name or a nickname of 2 to 40 characters (mandatory); the signature must not suggest that the Review was written by Ambit, by a person acting on behalf of Ambit or by a moderator;
- up to 5 photos (optional).
- The form clearly separates the data that we publish (rating, title, text, signature and photos) from the data that is used only to confirm the Review and verify the purchase (e-mail address, place of purchase, invoice number, invoice or receipt file).
- After the form is sent, we send a message with a confirmation link to the e-mail address provided. Clicking this link confirms the Review; we publish it under the rules described in § 5. The link is valid for 7 days. Reviews that have not been confirmed within this time are deleted together with their photos.
- The following persons may not add Reviews unless they clearly disclose their relationship in the text of the Review:
- employees and associates of Ambit and their family members;
- manufacturers and distributors of the products and their employees;
- Ambit’s partners, including contractors, for example roofing crews, referred or recommended by Ambit.
- We do not pay for Reviews and do not make any benefits, discounts or terms of cooperation dependent on their content. If we invite buyers to write a Review, we will invite all buyers of the given product, not only selected ones.
§ 3. Purchase verification
- Purchase verification is voluntary. When adding a Review, the Author may indicate the place of purchase and upload an invoice or receipt file or, for a purchase made at Ambit, provide the Ambit invoice number. Prices and items that do not relate to the product may be covered on the uploaded proof of purchase.
- We verify purchases made at Ambit and at other wholesalers and shops.
- We consider a purchase confirmed when all of the following conditions are met:
- the proof of purchase contains an item relating to the product the Review relates to, or to a variant of it presented on the same product page;
- the date of purchase is earlier than the date of the Review, and the seller can be identified;
- for an Ambit invoice number, we have confirmed that the Author is the buyer: the Author’s e-mail address matches the buyer’s address, or the buyer has confirmed authorship of the Review in reply to a message sent to the e-mail address we know from their purchases;
- for an invoice or receipt file, the proof of purchase was uploaded by the person who confirmed the Review using the link from the e-mail message;
- the same proof of purchase has not already been used to verify another Review of the same product; one proof of purchase gives one verified Review of a given product.
- Only a Review for which we have confirmed the purchase receives the “Verified purchase” label. We do not publish the place of purchase. We may withdraw the label if it turns out that the conditions in paragraph 3 were not met.
- We use the proof of purchase only for verification. We never publish it. We delete the file and the invoice number without undue delay after deciding on the verification, and no later than 30 days after receiving them.
- We do not check other Reviews as to whether the Author bought or used the product. We provide this information in accordance with the rules on combating unfair commercial practices.
§ 4. Content rules
- A Review, including its title, signature and photos, must not contain:
- content that is unlawful, offensive or vulgar or that incites hatred or violence;
- content that does not relate to the given product or to experience with it;
- personal data of third parties, for example names, addresses or telephone numbers;
- advertising, links to websites or contact details;
- photos or other works to which the Author does not hold the rights, images of persons without their consent, or photos of documents, house numbers and number plates;
- malware or content that may disrupt the operation of the website.
- The following are also not allowed: Reviews written for payment or in exchange for other benefits, Reviews written by competitors or on behalf of someone else, duplicated Reviews and Reviews by the persons listed in § 2(7) who have not disclosed their relationship.
- We do not delete Reviews about product quality because of a dispute over the facts, for example when the manufacturer or seller disagrees with the Author’s assessment. In such a case we may post a reply below the Review.
§ 5. Moderation and publication
- We publish a Review confirmed using the link from the e-mail message no later than 24 hours after confirmation. During this time we may check it and publish it earlier or refuse to publish it. We always check Reviews that contain links or contact details and publish them only after checking.
- We check all photos before publication. A photo appears with the Review only after it has been approved.
- We use automated tools to detect links and contact details. These tools only refer a Review for checking by a human. A decision to reject a Review or a photo is always made by a human.
- We do not change the text of Reviews: we publish a Review in full or not at all. We may decline to publish or delete a single photo that infringes § 4, while keeping the rest of the Review.
- We do not delete Reviews because they are negative, including at the request of the manufacturer or seller.
- We may post a reply below a Review, labelled “Reply from Ambit”.
- We calculate the average rating of a product from all published Reviews of that product, both verified and unverified.
- Reviews can be displayed starting from the newest or from the most helpful (§ 9). Reviews may be displayed in all language versions of the website, with an indication of the language in which they were written. We mark the language of a Review according to the language version of the website on which it was added or according to the language in which it is written. We may add our own translation of a Review into another language of the website; the translation is marked as an Ambit translation and the original text of the Review remains available next to the translation.
- While a notice is being examined (§ 8), we may temporarily hide a Review or a photo.
- We may refuse to publish or delete a Review or a photo that infringes the law or these Terms. The rules for informing the Author of such a decision and for appealing against it are described in § 8.
§ 6. Liability
- Reviews are statements of their Authors and express their views, not the views of Ambit.
- Ambit stores Reviews at the request of the Authors as a provider of a hosting service. In accordance with Article 6 DSA, Ambit is not liable for the content of Reviews if it does not have actual knowledge of illegal activity or illegal content and, as regards claims for damages, is not aware of facts or circumstances from which the illegal activity or illegal content is apparent, and if, upon obtaining such knowledge, in particular as a result of a notice, it acts expeditiously to remove or to disable access to the illegal content. Voluntary checking of Reviews by Ambit does not deprive Ambit of this exemption from liability (Article 7 DSA).
- The exemption from liability referred to in paragraph 2 does not apply to Ambit’s replies posted below Reviews, to the “Verified purchase” label, to the way Reviews are presented and sorted, or to liability arising from mandatory provisions of law, including consumer protection law.
- The Author is liable for the content of the Review under general rules. By adding a Review, the Author declares that they hold the rights to the photos added and that the persons whose image they have captured in the photos have consented to its dissemination (Article 81 of the Polish Act of 4 February 1994 on Copyright and Related Rights, ustawa o prawie autorskim i prawach pokrewnych).
- These Terms do not exclude or limit the rights that consumers have under the law.
§ 7. Licence
- The copyright in Reviews and photos remains with the Author.
- By adding a Review, the Author grants Ambit a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, unlimited in territory, to the Review and the photos added, in the following fields of use:
- reproduction by digital technology in server memory and in backup copies;
- making them available to the public in such a way that anyone can access them at a place and time of their choosing, on the website www.ambit.gda.pl in all of its language versions and in data provided to internet search engines (for example ratings visible in search results);
- displaying excerpts of Reviews and thumbnails of photos;
- translation of Reviews into other languages by Ambit and publication of the translation with the Review, marked as a translation and with access to the original text;
- making technical changes to photos, such as reducing their size and removing metadata, including location data.
- The licence lasts until the Review is deleted.
- We do not use Reviews or photos in advertising without the Author’s separate consent.
§ 8. Reporting reviews
- Anyone may report any Review or a single photo, including their own Review, if they believe that it infringes the law or these Terms, or if they are its Author and want to delete it.
- A report can be made:
- using the “Report” button next to the Review, which opens the report form;
- by e-mail sent to ambit@ambit.gda.pl;
- by letter sent to Ambit’s registered office: ul. Cementowa 5-9, 80-298 Gdańsk, Poland.
- A report should contain:
- the reason for the report and an explanation of why the Notifier considers the content to be unlawful or contrary to these Terms;
- an indication of whether the report concerns the whole Review or a specific photo; a report sent by e-mail or by letter must also state the product name, the Author’s signature and the date of the Review, or the address of the product page;
- the name of the Notifier and their e-mail address;
- a statement by the Notifier confirming their bona fide belief that the information contained in the report is accurate and complete.
- An Author who wants to delete their own Review selects the reason “This is my review – I want to delete it” in the report form, or replies to the e-mail message containing the link confirming the Review. We confirm the request by a message sent to the e-mail address used when the Review was added, regardless of the address from which the request was sent. After the request is confirmed, the Review disappears from the website without undue delay, and its data is deleted within 30 days.
- We confirm receipt of a report if the Notifier has provided an e-mail address. We examine reports diligently, objectively and without undue delay, usually within 7 days. Reports of content that may threaten the life or safety of persons are examined without delay.
- We examine every report. The number of reports alone does not cause a Review to be hidden automatically. For a person who frequently sends manifestly unfounded reports, we may, after a prior warning, stop examining further reports for a reasonable period.
- We inform the Notifier of the decision taken on the report and of the possibility of appealing against it.
- If we restrict the visibility of a Review or a photo, that is temporarily hide it, refuse to publish it or delete it, we send the Author, to the e-mail address used when the Review was added, a statement of reasons for the decision, without the Notifier’s details. The statement of reasons indicates:
- the type of restriction and its duration;
- the facts and circumstances on which we based the decision;
- whether we acted on the basis of a report or on our own initiative;
- whether we used automated tools when taking the decision;
- the ground for the decision: a provision of law or a point of these Terms;
- the possibilities of appealing against the decision.
- The Author and the Notifier may respond to the decision and ask for it to be reconsidered by writing to ambit@ambit.gda.pl or by letter to Ambit’s registered office. This does not exclude the right to pursue claims before a court.
- We pass information about content that may indicate a criminal offence threatening the life or safety of persons to the competent authorities (Article 18 DSA). We remove child sexual abuse material without delay and report it to the Polish Police or to the Dyżurnet.pl team.
§ 9. “Helpful” votes
- Anyone may mark a published Review as helpful. One vote per Review can be cast from one device and one network.
- After the “Helpful” button is clicked, we store the cookie ambit_prv in the browser with the numbers of the Reviews marked as helpful. The cookie is valid for up to 12 months and we store it only after the click. It is necessary for this function to work (Article 399 of the Polish Act of 12 July 2024, Electronic Communications Law, Prawo komunikacji elektronicznej), so it does not require consent. It can be deleted at any time in the browser settings.
- To protect voting against manipulation:
- we keep a hash of the address of the network from which the vote was cast for 7 days;
- we limit the number of votes from one network;
- we temporarily suspend voting on a Review when it receives an unnaturally large number of votes within 15 minutes;
- we may cancel votes that we consider suspicious.
§ 10. Personal data
- The controller of personal data is Ambit (§ 1(1)). In matters concerning personal data, you can contact us at the e-mail address iodo@ambit.gda.pl or by letter to Ambit’s registered office.

- handling notices of illegal content and performing obligations under the DSA: Article 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Article 16 DSA;

- ensuring security, protection against abuse and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest).
- The recipients of the data may be: the website hosting provider, the e-mail service provider, the provider of the customer service system (CRM), if that system is operated or maintained by an external entity, and public authorities when they request data under the law (Articles 9 and 10 DSA). Entities that process data on our behalf do so on the basis of a data processing agreement. The data published in a Review is available to all visitors to the website, including internet search engines.
- We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area.
- Data retention periods:
- a Review not confirmed using the link from the e-mail message, together with the photos and data sent in the form: no later than 8 days after it was added;
- a Review that is published, awaiting checking or temporarily hidden, together with the photos, rating, verification label and information on the accepted version of the Terms: until the Review is deleted;
- a rejected Review and rejected photos: on the website for 6 months from the decision; we keep a copy of the text of a rejected Review in the customer service system for 12 months from the decision;
- a Review deleted at the Author’s request: it stops being visible immediately, and its data is deleted from the website within 30 days; the copy of the text in the customer service system is deleted immediately, and we keep only a record of the deletion (Review identifier, date and type of action) for 12 months;
- the Author’s e-mail address: for as long as the Review exists and for 12 months after it is deleted or rejected, in order to defend against claims; upon a request for erasure, we delete it immediately unless a dispute concerning the Review is pending;
- the invoice file and number: deleted without undue delay after deciding on the verification, and no later than 30 days after receiving them;
- the result of the purchase verification (method and date of verification, the decision, the person who made it, and a key-secured hash of the proof of purchase data that makes it possible to check whether the proof has been used again): for as long as the Review exists and for 12 months after it is deleted;
- the hash of the confirmation link: 30 days from confirmation of the Review;
- the network address hash stored with a Review, a report or a submitted form: 90 days;
- the network address hash stored with a “Helpful” vote: 7 days;
- abuse protection counters (hashes of the network address and of the e-mail address): at most 2 days;
- a report stored on the website (reason, decision and Review identifier): 12 months from the decision;
- the Notifier’s data (name, e-mail address and content of the report) and statements of reasons for decisions: 12 months from the decision;

- the cookie ambit_prv: up to 12 months.
- Every data subject has the right of access to the data, to rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, the right to data portability for data processed under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, and the right to object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to their particular situation. They also have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, Poland.
- Providing an e-mail address is voluntary but necessary to publish a Review. Providing data for purchase verification is voluntary; without it, the Review will not receive the “Verified purchase” label. Providing the Notifier’s data is voluntary but needed to confirm receipt of the report and to inform them of the decision; it is not required when reporting child sexual abuse material.
- We do not use the e-mail addresses of Authors and Notifiers for marketing or for sending a newsletter. We do not add them to customer data in our system, except for the result of the purchase verification.
- We do not profile data subjects and do not take decisions about them based solely on automated processing. Automatic detection of links or contact details only refers a Review for checking by a human.
- Deleting a Review from our website does not delete copies of it stored by internet search engines. The operator of the search engine concerned is responsible for updating them.
§ 11. Complaints about the Service
- Complaints about the operation of the Service can be submitted by e-mail to ambit@ambit.gda.pl or by letter to Ambit’s registered office. A complaint should contain a description of the problem and contact details.
- We reply to a complaint within 14 days of receiving it, in the way in which it was submitted, unless the complainant indicates another way.
- Complaints about the products themselves are handled under the rules that apply to their sale, not under these Terms.
§ 12. Changes to the Terms and final provisions
- We may change these Terms for important reasons, in particular in the event of a change in the law, a change in the way the Service works or the need to ensure its security.
- We announce changes on this page at least 7 days before they take effect. We additionally inform Authors of published Reviews of significant changes by e-mail (Article 14(2) DSA). An Author who does not accept the changes may ask for their Review to be deleted under the rules described in § 8(4).
- These Terms are governed by Polish law. The choice of Polish law does not deprive a consumer of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which they have their habitual residence.
- These Terms are available in several language versions. This text is a translation of the Polish version.
- These Terms enter into force on 1 November 2026.
In case of discrepancies, the Polish version of the Terms is binding.
