Buying building materials in Poland for delivery abroad: how Ambit helps you through the process
Building or renovating abroad and considering buying your materials in Poland? We’ll explain how to plan your purchase, work out the full delivery cost and prepare your shipment. You’ll also see how Ambit brings product selection, orders, paperwork and transport together into one organised process.
At first, it can seem straightforward: find a product, compare prices and book transport. The questions tend to come later. Do the materials suit your design? Will all your orders be ready at the same time? Who will check the goods before they leave? How should VAT and customs clearance be handled?
That is why it is worth speaking to us before you pay for the materials.
Experience organising deliveries to 20 countries
We have experience organising shipments to 20 countries, including Iceland, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. That experience comes from practical work: bringing orders together, coordinating suppliers, preparing documents and arranging transport.
We draw on it when planning your delivery, establishing the requirements for the destination, the schedule and each party’s responsibilities from the start.
First, we establish what you need and where it is going
You do not need a complete shopping list. You can send us drawings, a contractor’s materials list, photographs or a description of the work.
We begin with the project: the destination country and address, what you want to buy, your budget and when the materials will be needed on site. We also establish whether you are buying as a private customer or a business, as this affects the paperwork and tax treatment.
We select materials for their intended use, not just their price. For a roof, we look at the complete solution: the covering, layers beneath it, fixings, flashings, gutters and accessories. We also help with insulation, façade materials and other products in our range.
Before ordering, we identify which specifications and documents need confirmation from your designer or contractor in the destination country. A product sold in Poland does not automatically suit every project abroad.
We compare the full cost of the purchase
A substantial discount does not always make an offer the best value. Packaging, supplier collections, storage, international transport, insurance and unloading may all add to the material price. For deliveries outside the EU, relevant customs clearance and import costs must also be considered.
We help bring these figures together before you decide. We clarify what the quotation includes, which costs are confirmed and what still needs pricing.
What matters is the cost of the materials delivered to the right address, not simply the amount on the Polish invoice.
We coordinate orders and schedules
Goods often come from several manufacturers or suppliers. Some are available from stock; others are made to order. Without a coordinated schedule, the transport may leave with materials missing or wait for the final delivery.

We help confirm specifications, availability and lead times. We coordinate the agreed purchases and preparation for dispatch.
Where it makes sense, we arrange consolidation: bringing orders together in one location before onward transport. This helps organise collections and reduce separate shipments. Storage arrangements and any charges are agreed in advance.
We check goods before dispatch
A mistake is easier to resolve while the product is still in Poland than after it reaches a building site abroad.
Within the agreed scope, we compare the goods against the order and documents, checking models, markings, quantities and the visible condition of packaging. We can provide photographs and investigate discrepancies before loading.
These checks can identify a missing package, an incorrect variant or visible damage. They do not replace technical product testing or inspection of the installation.
We help organise invoices and formalities
Legal, properly documented purchasing is the basis of our work together. We establish invoice details, the goods recipient and payment arrangements from the outset. The documents must reflect the actual order and shipment.

The destination matters. Deliveries to Germany or Sweden take place within the EU. Transactions between eligible businesses may qualify as an intra-Community supply of goods, subject to the relevant conditions. VAT treatment for a private customer must be established separately.
Norway and Iceland are outside the EU, so deliveries require consideration of export and import formalities. Living abroad does not automatically entitle a customer to a purchase at 0% Polish VAT. This depends on the transaction and the required evidence of export.
We help collect documents and coordinate arrangements with suppliers, the carrier and the customs agent. Before dispatch, we establish who handles the formalities, clearance and charges in the destination country.
We match transport to the goods and delivery site
The transport method depends on weight, dimensions, quantity and the nature of the materials. Roof tiles are heavy, insulation takes up space, and long components need appropriate positioning and securing.

We help agree the transport method, load preparation, schedule and handover arrangements. We also check practical details: vehicle access, who will receive the delivery and what equipment is needed for unloading.
Insurance cover and the procedure for dealing with damage are agreed before dispatch.
You do not need to travel to Poland to keep your order on track
Many building material purchases can be handled remotely. We discuss drawings, specifications and quotations online, while our team works locally in Poland. When goods need collecting, a delivery needs checking or an issue needs resolving with a supplier, we coordinate those activities within the agreed scope.
Before purchase, we also check warranty conditions, including territorial coverage and how to report a problem after delivery abroad.
Want to buy materials in Poland for your building project abroad? Send Ambit your drawings or shopping list, the destination country and postcode, and your planned deadline. We’ll help establish what to order, how to prepare the shipment and which support you need.
