The huge choice of metal roof tiles on our market means I could write about several dozen distinctive models. Each has a detail, shape or finish that makes it unique. I would particularly like to draw attention to two models.

The first is Panorama from Balex Metal. This modular metal roof tile has a distinctive groove that makes it an excellent imitation of a clay tile. Carefully developed, matching system accessories ensure that even someone working in the roofing industry will not recognise it as a metal roof tile at first glance.

For modern roofs, another distinctive product is Ruukki Hygge, introduced in 2018. This flat metal roof tile fits perfectly with modern building trends. Sharp edges, modules imitating flat tiles and the option of laying them in a staggered pattern are just some of its distinctive features.

Standing seam metal roofing

The market has offered standing seam metal roofing for many years. A little over a decade ago, however, this term mainly referred to titanium-zinc sheet. This material allows many bespoke flashings that cannot be made from steel sheet. When installed by a qualified roofer with sheet metal skills, this covering looks highly attractive and impressive.

The relatively high cost of titanium-zinc sheet led to similar coverings made from steel appearing on the market. There is no reason not to give a “modern barn” house a standing seam steel roof. The main difference is the installation method. Steel sheet does not require the seam to be closed by hand: one sheet is simply pushed into the next and snaps into place with the so-called Click system. This is a much cheaper alternative in terms of both material and labour, particularly recommended for simple gable roofs. When choosing standing seam roofing, we recommend a special underlay designed for this material. This will help avoid problems when the building is in use.
