Electrotile eTile Karo – titanium-zinc roofing with photovoltaics
Titanium-zinc and solar technology in one roofing solution. eTile Karo combines a distinctive roofing pattern with energy generation for projects where architectural detail also matters.
- Patinated titanium-zinc sheet metal
- Photovoltaics incorporated into the roofing design
- System and details selected for the specific project
eTile Karo is a BIPV system using patinated titanium-zinc sheet metal and integrated photovoltaic modules. The covering forms a distinctive diamond pattern reminiscent of scales. It is an option for building owners, developers and architects who want to combine this effect with energy generation planned into the building from the outset.
Selection covers the surface composition, the layout of active components and the detailing. The roof geometry, substrate requirements, ventilation and the installation conditions for both the metal roofing and the electrical system must be considered. This solution is best discussed in relation to a specific design, rather than treated as a replacement for any roof covering without changes to the remaining roof layers.
When choosing the appearance, ask for a current sample and the documentation for the variant. An image on a screen can help you assess the composition, but it cannot replace seeing the material's colour and finish in person. Discuss the project type, planned area and energy needs with an AMBIT adviser. This will help establish what information the manufacturer should consider when selecting the system.

Frequently asked questions
Does the durability of titanium-zinc mean the photovoltaics have the same warranty?
The durability of the roofing material should not be equated with the module's warranty period, power retention or the rest of the installation. Check the scope and conditions of each warranty for the selected system.
Can eTile Karo be used when renovating a historic building?
This application requires an individual assessment of the project and the necessary heritage approvals. The material's appearance or the form of the covering does not automatically mean that installation on a protected building is permitted.
How can I choose a finish to suit the building's façade?
Ask for a current material sample and view it alongside the proposed façade materials. An image on a screen helps establish a direction, but does not fully reproduce the colour, sheen and texture of the version being ordered.
What should I prepare for an initial quotation discussion?
Have a roof plan, a cross-section of the layers, the location and your preferred appearance ready. Energy consumption data will help with the electrical part. This allows complete configurations to be compared, rather than the price of the sheet metal alone.

How we check reviews: we publish reviews confirmed by their authors via a link sent to their email address, no later than 24 hours after confirmation (during this time we may check them). Reviews containing links or contact details, and all photos, are checked before publication. The ‘Verified purchase’ label appears only on reviews whose author sent us proof of purchase of this product and where we confirmed the purchase at Ambit or at another wholesaler. Other reviews are not checked for a purchase. The average includes all published reviews, verified and unverified. We do not pay for reviews and we do not remove reviews because they are negative. We prepare translations of reviews ourselves and mark them; the original is always available. Details: Review terms.
