eTile Flat is a BIPV roof covering based on snap-lock standing seam metal roofing combined with photovoltaic modules. The vertical divisions of the roof complement clean, modern architecture. Inactive components complete the active sections, allowing you to plan the roof's appearance alongside the installation layout.

It is worth including the system when designing a new roof or a complete replacement of the roof covering. The manufacturer recommends it primarily for less complex roof shapes. A simple layout makes it easier to arrange the modules, but does not replace checks of the pitch, details, shading and substrate requirements. A suitable configuration can also include the façade if this is covered by the design and the system documentation.

The name Flat describes the product's form and does not mean that it is intended for flat roofs. Frequently asked questions

Is eTile Flat a solution for a flat roof?

This should not be inferred from the name. Flat refers to the form of the covering. The permitted pitch and roof build-up must be selected according to the current documentation for the specific system version.

I have a standing seam roof. Can Flat simply be added to it?

Flat is a roofing system with integrated photovoltaics. For installation on an existing standing seam roof that is to be retained, the manufacturer describes eTile Fusion. Selection requires checks of the seam type, roof condition and fixing method.

Can only part of the roof be designed with cells?

Yes, the system also includes inactive components. The division into zones must be coordinated with the roof layout and electrical design to account for shading, details and the required system output.

Can it be used on a façade?

The manufacturer also provides for façade applications. These require a suitable design for the fixings, connections and electrical installation. Approval for roofing should not automatically be assumed to apply to any façade.
