When selecting a heat recovery ventilation system, it is worth establishing from the outset where the air will leave the building. VILPE SCOOP 180/200 is a roof exhaust outlet for mechanical ventilation systems. It is installed on the roof in the position specified in the design. It is an exhaust duct terminal, rather than a separate fan or air handling unit. Airflow is provided by a suitably selected ventilation system.

The universal tile version is designed for ducts with diameters of 180 or 200 mm and for most tiled roof coverings. Before ordering, however, compatibility with the specific roof tile and the installation detail must be confirmed. The term “universal” should not replace checking the roof covering model. The manufacturer has provided a removable head that allows access to the duct for inspection and servicing.

The exhaust outlet should be selected on the basis of the parameters of the entire system. The required airflow, resistance at the terminal and its position relative to the air intake and other roof components all matter. Coordination between the ventilation designer and the roofer helps establish the correct passage through the roof layers. It also allows the duct connection to be planned in a position that will remain accessible.
