VILPE ALIPAI FLOW – ventilation for flat roof layers
Moisture can remain in a roof even after construction is complete. ALIPAI FLOW roof vents ventilate roof insulation and remove moist air from roof layers designed for this purpose.
A flat roof needs solutions suited to its build-up, not just the appearance of its roof covering. VILPE ALIPAI FLOW is a family of low-pressure roof vents for ventilating roof insulation. They use air movement to remove moisture from a structure designed for this type of ventilation. They can be considered when designing a new roof or planning renovation, once the arrangement of the existing layers and the cause of the moisture have been checked.
The family includes models with diameters of 75, 110 and 160 mm. The ALIPAI 110 FLOW version for bituminous roofs is 476 mm high and has a 150 mm wide flange. Its base is joined to the roof covering between the layers of bituminous felt in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Other waterproofing materials require a suitable connection detail: a flange for bituminous felt should not automatically be treated as suitable for every membrane.
Ventilation performance depends on the roof as a whole. Air must be able to travel between the planned points, so the number of vents cannot be selected on the basis of area alone. The division of the roof into sections, the type of insulation and unobstructed airflow paths also matter. A vent alone does not remove the cause of a leak or replace repairs to the waterproofing.
Planning this type of arrangement? Send Ambit a roof section, details of the covering and a roof plan. We will help you work through the choice of components and prepare an enquiry about a solution suited to the project. This makes it clear from the outset which vents and connections need to be included in the order.

Frequently asked questions
Is adding a vent to a damp roof enough?
First, the cause of the moisture must be established and the roof layers checked to see whether they allow airflow. A vent will not repair a leaking roof covering.
How many vents does one roof section need?
The number and positions are specified in a design that takes the structure, insulation and airflow paths into account. There is no single number suitable for every roof of the same area.
Is the model for bituminous felt also suitable for a PVC membrane?
The connection must suit the waterproofing. PVC requires an appropriate detail and a compatible flange, confirmed as suitable for the chosen solution.
