VILPE EC FLOW – roof fans with EC motors
The motor can operate on the roof while the system extracts air from the rooms below. EC FLOW fans are selected for mechanical extract ventilation and, in a suitable configuration, for the Silent Kitchen concept.
The VILPE EC FLOW roof fan actively extracts air from a building. Positioning the motor above the roof makes it possible to design an extraction system with the motor outside the room. The family includes variants for mechanical ventilation, and selected models can work with a suitably matched motorless cooker hood. This is the principle behind the Silent Kitchen concept: the devices must be selected together with the duct and controls to create a coordinated system.
The manufacturer's standard range includes the EC125P/500 FLOW, EC160P/500 FLOW and EC200P/500 FLOW XL models. P-series variants require a separately selected roof pass-through suited to the roof covering. S-series versions with a different installation method are also available. An EC FLOW fan should not be confused with a passive FLOW roof vent: a similar head does not mean the same function.
The EC motor can be controlled using a 0–10 V signal with a compatible controller or automation system. The model and control method are selected to suit the system, rather than the duct diameter alone. The required airflow must be checked against the actual system resistance. If the fan is to work with a cooker hood, compatibility between the specific devices and their controls must be confirmed.
Ask Ambit about a set of components for your project. Have the required airflow rate, duct route and diameter, roof type and cooker hood model, if applicable, ready. We will help you work through the choice of fan, roof pass-through and accessories for a quotation. This makes it clear from the outset which components are needed for a complete installation and who is responsible for confirming its parameters.

Frequently asked questions
Are a FLOW roof vent and an EC FLOW fan the same thing?
No. An EC FLOW fan has a motor and actively extracts air. A passive roof vent is a different system component.
Can any cooker hood work with a roof fan?
No. A compatible motorless cooker hood and suitable controls are required. The specific combination of devices must be checked.
Is a larger-diameter model always better?
The model is selected to suit the airflow rate and system resistance. Choosing on diameter alone is too simplistic to ensure that the system operates correctly.

How we check reviews: we publish reviews confirmed by their authors via a link sent to their email address, no later than 24 hours after confirmation (during this time we may check them). Reviews containing links or contact details, and all photos, are checked before publication. The ‘Verified purchase’ label appears only on reviews whose author sent us proof of purchase of this product and where we confirmed the purchase at Ambit or at another wholesaler. Other reviews are not checked for a purchase. The average includes all published reviews, verified and unverified. We do not pay for reviews and we do not remove reviews because they are negative. We prepare translations of reviews ourselves and mark them; the original is always available. Details: Review terms.
