FAKRO provides “warm installation” through additional system insulation and a sealed connection between the window and the roof layers. The key elements are:

1) Insulation kit XDP

The basic package for creating sealed insulation around the window:

includes a vapour-permeable collar to connect the window to the roofing membrane,
makes it easier to seal around the window in the critical area, providing external wind tightness and watertightness.

2) Kit XDP Thermo

The “warm” version: in addition to the vapour-permeable collar, it includes a thermal insulation collar that insulates the frame over its full height.

Practical benefits:

reduces thermal bridges around the frame,
reduces the risk of condensation or water vapour around the window,
improves actual comfort in the loft.

3) Kit XDP Plus

An alternative to Thermo: instead of a conventional collar, this package uses natural sheep’s wool as insulation around the window. The idea and effect are the same: additional insulation of the window area using system components.

4) Thermo sealing flashings

FAKRO offers flashing versions with an additional insulation layer (Thermo).
