Island hoods
An island extractor hood is fitted directly above the hob, for example over a kitchen island. It can be rectangular or tubular in shape. Made from materials of the highest quality and equipped with LED spot lighting, extractor hoods positioned at the centre of the kitchen serve both practical and decorative purposes. You can view selected extractor hood models in our showrooms from our range and see how they work.
Convenience and performance are provided by:
- 4 operating modes,
- operation at maximum power for 20 sec. after the appliance is switched on,
- lighting for the work area beneath the hood,
- remote control,
- silent operation.
Installing an island extractor hood
The general installation guidance for ceiling extractor hoods and island extractor hoods starts with the fact that fitting a hood involves 3 tasks. As well as fitting the hood in the kitchen, you need to install the appropriate equipment on the roof and connect the ventilation ducts and electrical wiring. You should also know that an extractor hood can only be fitted in kitchens equipped with 2 types of ventilation duct.
For the hood to work correctly, the room must have a duct for kitchen ventilation and a separate duct for connecting the hood. The hood cannot be connected to natural-draught chimney flues serving gas boilers, coal-fired stoves or fireplaces: mechanical extraction could reverse the draught in the chimney and endanger people. For this reason, it is best to have the equipment and ducts fitted by a specialist.
