Roof carpentry
As a company dealing with all aspects of roofing, we also carry out carpentry, namely work on the construction of roof structures for detached houses, apartment buildings and larger buildings such as churches. We erect all types of timber roof structures and load-bearing roof frames in accordance with the building's design specifications. We construct traditional timber rafter roofs, rafter roofs with collar ties and purlin roofs with paired ties. Our services also include installing prefabricated roof trusses delivered to site as elements ready for assembly, considerably speeding up roof structure construction.
We mainly use pine or spruce components for roof structures, although our extensive range also includes construction timber of other species. We are always happy to advise, while leaving the final choice to our customers. The construction timber we sell and use for roof structures is always of the highest quality and meets all standards. Our carpentry work also includes all types of refurbishment involving the replacement of timber structures, as well as roof renovations and maintenance of existing roof structures.
What ensures safe carpentry work?
Poorly executed sheet metal detailing and carpentry can endanger workers and members of the public. To prevent this, we strictly follow basic safety rules, use protective equipment, plan work properly and prepare workstations. Carpentry should be carried out in good weather, ideally with wind speeds below 10 m/s and no rain, snow or fog. When working in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic, we put protective measures in place by cordoning off the work area with tape, ropes or boards.
We take particular care when transporting materials and tools. We also ensure that all materials are properly prepared before roofers go onto the roof. For example, straightening sheet metal on the roof is unacceptable. To prevent accidents, we place boilers used to heat bituminous adhesive and tar at a safe distance from flammable materials and buildings. This should be at least 50 metres. To avoid burns, we carry hot substances in suitably insulated containers made from fire-resistant material. For safety, we request that the power supply be disconnected if we find electrical cables hanging too low.
