Advantages
Among the roof coverings used today, those made from small-format slates are some of the most attractive. They have a long tradition in construction. They look natural on historic buildings, while on new buildings they help break up the monotony of the built environment. Although made from fibre cement, their surface looks remarkably like natural slate. The small-format Cedral fibre cement roofing and facade slate is a product of the highest quality in both technical and aesthetic terms. Its material offers exceptional performance. The slate provides safety and comfort for occupants: it is non-combustible, environmentally safe and resistant to UV radiation, changing weather conditions, including frost, and pests.
Only inorganic pigments are used to manufacture the slates, ensuring resistance to ultraviolet radiation. Their small size allows them to suit the required roof shape: from broad surfaces or tight curves, through diagonal roof slopes, to vertical surfaces. This creates a coherent appearance, helping to unify the separate roof surfaces of individual buildings and bring building complexes together as a whole. Facade slates can cover an entire roof, including its details. Two properties make this possible: the small slate format and the material's non-combustibility, which also allows it to be used as chimney cladding.
The range of slate colours makes it easy to match the colours typical of a given region. Light playing across their distinctive surface texture gives them a particularly attractive appearance.
Cedral fibre cement slates create modern and traditional roofs and facades. They help them blend into any surroundings and become an integral part of the landscape. They offer unlimited possibilities for shaping a building's appearance: laid on roofs, facades or both, they create interesting, coherent and attractive compositions.
