Swisspor Biterm insulation boards (bitumen-faced EPS)

Biterm insulation boards, also known as bitumen-faced EPS, are EPS boards faced on one side with a bituminous underlay. Cuts in the EPS core allow these composite boards to be rolled up. They are available in a size of 400 x 100 cm and thicknesses of 4-15 cm in 1 cm increments. Other sizes can be manufactured on request. The cuts allow BITERM boards to conform closely to the roof surface and also eliminate "rocking" between boards.

Uses:
  • thermal insulation of roofs
  • beneath bituminous roofing membranes on concrete, timber or trapezoidal sheet substrates
  • thermal insulation of foundations
  • installing new roof coverings and renovating existing ones as part of energy efficiency improvements
Technical specifications:
  • tensile strength of the bitumen–EPS bond: ≥ 0,1 MPa
  • strength of the bitumen–EPS bond under water exposure: ≥ 0,1 MPa
  • resistance of the bitumen–EPS bond to temperatures of +80°C and -20°C: ≥ 0,1 MPa
  • peel resistance of the bitumen–EPS bond, peeling moment: ≥ 20 Nmm/mm
