Trapezoidal sheets
Pruszyński trapezoidal roofing sheets
Trapezoidal roofing sheets are popular as the most economical building materials for a wide range of applications. Trapezoidal sheet roofing has long been widely used in private, industrial and commercial construction. A wide choice of protective coatings, modern colours and easy installation have made these sheets a popular choice for contemporary buildings with simple shapes, geometric forms and minimalist styling. They can replace metal roof tiles, as they likewise do not put a strain on the roof structure.
What are trapezoidal roofing sheets?
Trapezoidal sheet is a lightweight roofing material that can be used at almost any roof pitch. Under the standards, it can even be used at a pitch of 4° (for trapezoidal sheets with a T35 profile or higher). It is strong and rigid, and its profile, higher than that of typical metal roof tiles, effectively drains rainwater from the roof. Trapezoidal sheets differ in the type of sheet metal and the profile height. Roofing sheets have profile heights ranging from 14 to 60 mm (T14 – T60) and are made from galvanised or coated sheet metal, or with an AZ (aluzinc) coating. Lower-profile sheets (from T6) and trapezoidal roofing sheets are also used on façades, for fencing and for garage doors. Higher profiles (above T60) are used on large-span roofs and in load-bearing structures.
Using trapezoidal sheeting for roofs
A major advantage of trapezoidal sheets is that they can be used as a roof covering at virtually any pitch, depending on the profile height. Taking installation speed and material cost into account, trapezoidal sheets are best suited to large, simple roofs, just like metal roof tiles made to measure.
As sheet metal is classed as a lightweight roof covering, it is also worth considering when the roof structure is not designed for a heavy material, such as roof tiles, or when the roof was previously covered with metal roof tiles, for example, before refurbishment.
Trapezoidal sheets have been a popular building material for years because of their wide range of applications. They are most often used for roofing:
- residential buildings
- outbuildings
- garages
- carports.
Benefits of trapezoidal roofing sheets
Their key benefits include:
- the price of trapezoidal sheets – lower than that of modular metal roof tiles,
- different profile heights – allowing a wide range of applications and interesting designs,
- availability in many colours,
- a choice of protective layers: gloss and matt polyester, PURMAX hybrid coating, PURLAK polyurethane coating and metallic coatings – galvanising and aluzinc,
- the option of perforation to improve the acoustic properties of the building,
- available accessories: screws, nails, seals and anti-condensation nonwoven,
- a guarantee that each individual order will be supplied in a uniform colour (shade).
